2 DAMS ONE HAVING TROUT & THE OTHER BASS, CARP, CURPER & CATFISH
There is no cost to fish for those staying in the cottages except for the catch clients may want to take home. Magoebaskloof Getaway gives some of the most exciting fishing in a tranquil and beautiful environment. A great part of the world for trout fishing, bass, cuper, carp and catfish in a beautiful settings surrounded by magnificent mountains.
These dams are controlled by Magoebaskloof Getaway for the use of paid up members who have purchased an annual licence or day visitors in possession of a valid day permit.
Permitted hours of angling: 6 am to 6 pm.
Catch and release is permitted on the top dam only (unless the fish is injured), whereas the catch in the bottom dam must be taken and paid for.
Regulation flyfishing methods only, using BARBLESS HOOKS – no spinning or bait fishing is permitted. Please remember to complete and return your permits when you have finished fishing.
Please treat the dams and surrounding environment with care & respect & insure that you are honesty about your catch.

Flies: R6/fly.
Fish: R49/kg (weigh before gutting).

Applications for membership (entitles you to flyfishing for the whole year) at Magoebaskloof Getaway are obtainable from reception.
NO SWIMMING (if fishermen are around), NO BOATING OR FLOAT TUBING, STRICTLY NO FIRES EXCEPT IN DESIGNATED AREAS.
Staff members retain the right to check bags, cooler bags and cars.
OTHER FISHING SPOTS - Ebenezer Dam, Magoebaskloof Dam or Tzaneen Dam:
This deep 340-hectare mountain dam is administered by Lepele Northern Water board. There are other species such as smallmouth and largemouth bass, eels, carp and catfish. Best fishing in May, June and July.
